HDMI devices with possible Auto-Switching issues

Symptom: The switch does not automatically display a device (Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV devices, Cable/Satellite boxes).

The auto-switching feature is triggered by changes in the power-state of the connected video source. For example, when a Blu-ray player powers on, the switch will change inputs to display the Blu-ray player. If the Blu-ray player powers off, the switch will change to a new input.

Some devices do not change power states when shut off (Xbox One, PS4) or are not able to be shut off (Chromecast, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV devices).

These devices are still compatible with the switch, and will pass video and audio at the maximum supported quality, but will only be accessible by using the remote control or pressing the “Switch” button on the front of the switch.

The devices below may be unable to trigger Auto-Switching, or may need their settings adjusted before it will work as intended:

  • Playstation 4/4 Pro/5
  • Xbox One/One S/One X
  • Fire TV, Roku, and Apple TV devices (All generations)
  • Nintendo Switch
